Wothorpe Towers is a romantic ruin: the remains of a unique 17th Century building of national significance. Situated on a hill above the town of Stamford, it was once an imposing Jacobean lodge created by the eldest son of Lord Burghley, Thomas Cecil, as a place of recreation. Built in the early 1600s, this was a wholly new type of Lodge – not set in a deer-park, forest or rabbit warren but instead created in a pastoral setting as a retreat from the formality and responsibility of a big house.

This was a fascinating project from the very start, pulling up to the grounds of Wothorpe Towers in the midst of winter, you got an overall impression of the impact that the site needed to make to convey the goal that Paul and Janet Griffin are restoring this fantastic site to.

The site was very clear in the customers heads, so it was a simple task to put together the shell of the site that they would want. Once the look and feel had been organised, we added a news page, similar to a blog page so that the latest work that was being carried out could be reported on.
